Vietnam Airlines will add a new link to Germany with flights from Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi to Munich.
From October 2, Vietnam Airlines will operate three total weekly flights each to Munich from Hanoi (twice-weekly – Friday/Sunday) and Ho Chi Minh City (once-weekly every Monday). Services on the two routes will then be increased from December 24 with an additional weekly flight on each route for a combined total of five weekly flights to Munich.
The airline will use Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft with three-cabin classes – Business, Premium Economy, and Economy – on the new routes.
In a statement, Munich Airport CEO Jost Lammers said: “The new routes will expand our range of Asian connections and reinforce Munich Airport’s position as one of the leading aviation hubs in Europe. We are confident that these new direct flights will be very well received by our passengers and help to further enhance economic relations and cultural exchange between Bavaria and Vietnam.”
With the addition of Munich, Vietnam Airlines will operate flights on four routes to Germany from Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi to both Munich and Frankfurt. In Europe, the airline also offers flights to London-Heathrow and Paris-Charles de Gaulle.
